How do I deactivate patient address information?

  • Updated

Issue

I added a duplicate address for a patient/prospect record in CRM, and I would like to deactivate the duplicate address entry.

Environment

Kipu CRM, Roles: External 3rd Party VOB Worker, Admission Worker, Combined +, Combined (Admissions and B.D.), Super User, Limited Admissions Worker, VOB Worker, Restricted Admissions Worker, Alumni/Aftercare Worker, Patient Addresses

Important
If you are managed by a third-party biller, it is possible you will not see these roles available for your tenant. Contact support for more assistance.

Resolution

To deactivate a duplicate address in a patient's CRM record, please follow the guidance below.

  1. Using the Global Search bar, search for the desired patient.
  2. Select the patient record from the search results presented.
  3. Click on the Address section in the left-side panel to go directly to the patient's address section.
  4. In the Addresses section, select the duplicate address entry to open it for editing.
  5. Using the End Date field, set your desired date for the address to be deactivated.
    1. Important: To deactivate the address immediately, set the End Date to the previous day.

  6. After choosing your desired end date, click Save Changes to record your updates.
  7. The address will now appear on the Inactive Addresses list for the patient record.
    1. Important: Inactive Patient Addresses will not be transferred to the Kipu EMR.
