How do I Delete a Referral Source/Referral Source Contact?

Issue

I cannot find where to delete a Referral Source (or Referral Source Contact).

Environment

Kipu CRM, Users: Super User & Combined +, Feature: Referral Sources

Resolution

Referral Sources (or Referral Source Contacts) cannot be deleted from the system. Instead, add an end date to move a referral source from the Active to the Inactive status.

1. Click on the CRM tab and select Business Development > Referral Sources.                                      
2. Click on the name of a referral source record or referral source contact to open it.
3. Enter a date in the End Date field then click on Save Changes. We recommend you choose yesterday's date to guarantee immediate inactivity.               
4. Return to the Referral Sources Grid, then select the toggle to Showing Inactive to verify that the referral source or referral source contact is no longer active in the system.  

Cause

Referral sources and referral source contacts cannot be deleted as they are saved in the system (either in an active or inactive status) for historical record keeping.
