Referral Source Classification Feature

The Referral Source Classification feature offers CRM users a powerful tool to categorize referring entities using custom labels. This feature assigns values to each classification, influencing the order in which records appear when sorted in the Referral Source grid, thereby enhancing the organization and prioritization of referral sources.

Requirements

  • The user must have one of the following security roles to manage Referral Source Classifications:
    • Combined +
    • Combined (Admissions and B.D.)
    • Super User
    • Business Development
    • Referral Source Management Plus
    • Business Development Plus

Important
If you are managed by a third-party biller, it is possible you will not see these roles available for your tenant. Contact support for more assistance.

Creating RS Classifications

  • Navigate to CRM > Organization > Tenant > Custom Referral Source Classifications.
  • Using the Classification field, input the name of the RS classification you would like to create.
  • Next, select Yes on the active toggle.
  • Select Add Item.
  • Select Save Changes to record the RS classification in the system. 

Managing RS Classifications

For guidance on how to manage your referral source classifications in the Kipu CRM, please refer to the steps below.

  • Navigate to CRM > Organization > Tenant > Custom Referral Source Classifications.
  • Select Edit on the classification you would like to modify.
  • In the Classification field, apply any desired edits to the label. Once completed, select Save Item.
  • Select Save Changes to record the edited classification.

Important
If you would like to remove a RS classification from your list, simply select Delete. Please note, classifications cannot be deleted if they are tied to any records in the system.

Important
Alternatively, users can designate an RS classification as inactive and unavailable for use in the system. Select No on the active toggle.

RS Classification Positions

Re-Order Icon Behavior

When selected, the RS classification moves to position 0, placing it at the bottom of the sort order when the grid is sorted.

When selected, the RS classification is moved down one position.
When selected, the RS classification is moved up one position.
When selected, the RS classification moves to the highest position on the list, ensuring it appears at the top when the grid is sorted.

Here is an example of the sorting behavior.

When sorting the RS Classification column in descending order on the referral source grid, the records containing the highest position classifications will appear toward the top of the grid. Please see example below.
