2. Opts In/out or Discharged

  • Updated

The alumni program for the Kipu CRM allows patients to opt into ongoing support, communication, and other services offered as part of the alumni aftercare program. These services may include follow-ups, check-ins, resources, or event invitations post-completion. The patient can also choose to opt out of the alumni aftercare program.

Key Terms

  • Patient Status: A required field, which dictates the patient's current status, whether it be prospect, lead, patient, opts in for alumni/aftercare, opts out for alumni aftercare, or discharged.
  • Opts In for Alumni/Aftercare: The patient voluntarily agrees to participate in ongoing support programs, such as follow-up services, alumni events, or aftercare resources, to maintain their recovery after completing treatment.
  • Opts Out for Alumni/Aftercare: The patient chooses not to participate in ongoing support programs, such as follow-up services, alumni events, or aftercare resources, to maintain their recovery after completing treatment.
  • Discharge: The process of a patient completing treatment, followed by a plan for ongoing care and support to maintain recovery.

Opting In/Out

The CRM tenant must have the Opts in for Alumni/Aftercare and Opts out for Alumni/Aftercare record statuses set to be visible for use in the system. For more information on how to opt a patient in or out of the alumni aftercare program, click here.

  1. Alumni coordinators will review the discharged patients visible in the alumni processing grid and communicate with them to determine whether they would like to opt in or opt out of alumni aftercare.2025-04-09_11-57-22.png
  2. If the patient voluntarily opts into (or out of) alumni/aftercare, the admissions staff will choose the opt in or out option directly from the patient status dropdown on the patient record and click Save Changes.2025-04-09_12-00-06.pngImportant: It is recommended that the Admissions Staff follow up with the patient if they are still unsure regarding alumni/aftercare.
