Twilio Integration Setup Guide

This guide is designed for users responsible for setting up the Twilio Integration. Follow the step-by-step instructions to configure Twilio with your Kipu CRM, enabling efficient communication, and streamlining customer interactions.


  • Must have an active Kipu CRM Tenant
  • Account SID, auth token, phone number, and Message Service Sid tied to your Twilio account
  • CRM webhook URL for Twilio

Configuring Twilio Webhook URL

  1. Upon receipt of your CRM webhook URL for the Twilio Integration, please log in to your Twilio account.
  2. Select the Phone Numbers section on the left-side panel.
  3. Select Develop > Manage > Active Numbers from the menu.
  4. Click on your Twilio phone number.
  5. Select the Configure tab.
  6. Scroll down to the Messaging Configuration area.
  7. Within the Messaging Service field, designate the service that your phone number will be using in your approved campaign. This will be required to obtain the Message Service Sid needed for the integration.
  8. Click on the Configure With field and select the Webhook, TwiML Bin, Function, Studio Flow, Proxy Service option.
  9. Choose Webhook from the drop-down in the A message comes in field.
  10. Enter the CRM webhook URL in the URL field. (Contact Support for the webhook.
  11. Set the HTTP field to HTTP POST.
  12. Click Save Configuration.

Configuring Kipu CRM for Twilio

Once you've configured your Twillio account, you'll need the following information for CRM.

  1. Access the Main Console on your Twilio Account.
  2. Scroll down to the Account Info area.
  3. Take note of the following data in the Account Info area:
    • Twilio Account SID
    • Twilio Auth Token
    • Twilio Phone Number
  4. Next, lets locate the Message Service Sid. Select Messaging on the left side-panel.
  5. Select Services.
  6. For the service listed, take note of the Sid presented.
  7. Send an email correspondence to CRM Support including the data points mentioned above. Kipu CRM Support Staff will complete the CRM portion of the integration in Tenant Manager settings.
  8. Once CRM Support Staff has completed configuring the Twilio Integration, proceed to test the SMS capabilities.
