Issue
I cannot find where to delete or deactivate a patient contact record.
Environment
Kipu CRM, Roles: Admission Worker, Combined +, Combined (Admissions and B.D.), Super User, Limited Admissions Worker, Alumni/Aftercare Worker | Patient Contacts
Resolution
For guidance on how to delete a Patient Contact record, please refer to the steps below.
- Using the Global Search Bar, search for your desired patient record.
- Select your desired patient record from the search results.
- Select Contacts from the left-side panel.
- Select your desired Patient Contact from the list to access the record.
- Select Delete to remove the record from the system.
- A confirmation prompt will appear. Select Yes to proceed with deletion of the record.
Important
CRM users cannot delete Patient Contact records if they are linked to other records in the system, such as a Communication Log or Treatment Opportunity. In such cases, the following error message will appear:
Refer to the following alternative steps to deactivate the Patient Contact record in the system.
- Using the End Date field, set it to your desired deactivation date. For immediate deactivation, set it one day back from the current date.
- Select Save Changes.
- Now that you have deactivated the Patient Contact record, select Contacts from the left-side panel.
- The contact you deactivated will no longer appear on the Active view of the Contacts section for the Patient.
Important
To locate the deactivated contact record, simply flip the toggle to Inactive.
