How Do I Add a Medical Claims and/or Substance Abuse Claims Address To My Insurance Record?

  • Updated

Issue

I need to associate a claims address with my prospective clients' insurance records. Additionally, I need this information to populate the client's EMR face sheet.

Important
Patient records must have an insurance record on file.

Environment

List the Product, Roles, Features/Permissions, and Location in the Product.

  • Product: Kipu CRM
  • Roles: Super User, External 3rd Party VOB Worker, Admission Worker, Combined +, Combined (Admissions and B.D.), Limited Admissions Worker, VOB Worker, Restricted Admissions Worker
  • Location: Patient Insurance Records

Important
If you are managed by a third-party biller, it is possible you will not see these roles available for your tenant. Please contact support for more assistance.

Resolution

  • Using the global search bar, search for your desired patient record.
  • Select your desired Patient from the search results to access the record.
  • Select Insurance List from the left-side panel.
  • Select your desired insurance record on file.
  • On the left-side panel, select Contacts.
  • Select Add Contact.
  • Using the Address Type field, select either Medical Claims or Substance Abuse Claims.

Important
Only two types of addresses can be successfully sent to the EMR during transfer: Medical Claims and Substance Abuse Claims. The system gives priority to sending Medical Claims addresses. If there is no Medical Claims address available, the system will then send the Substance Abuse Claims address, if it is present.

  • Select Add Address.
  • The Payor Address modal will appear. Fill out all applicable fields.
  • Once you have filled out all desired fields, select Save Changes.
  • The system will return you to the Patient Insurance Contact modal. Using the Select an Address field, choose your desired address record.
  • Select Save Changes.
  • Upon transferring the treatment opportunity to the EMR, the generated EMR facesheet will display the claims address that was tied to the insurance record.
