How do I Assign a Clinician to a Treatment Opportunity?

Issue

I need to assign a clinician to a patient.

Environment

Kipu CRM, Roles: Super User, Combined Admissions, Admissions Worker, Admissions and Business Development

Resolution

To assign a clinician to a patient, you need to add a Treatment Opportunity from the patient's chart and select an Assigned Clinician from the dropdown. This dropdown will only display facility contacts that have a Contact Role of 'Clinician'.

It is important to ensure that:

  • The clinician is added as a contact within the facility.
  • Their contact role is specifically marked as Clinician; otherwise, their name will not appear in the Assigned Clinician dropdown.

Follow the below steps to assign a clinician to a patient.

  1. Search for the Patient using the Global search bar and select the patient.
  2. Once the patient record is populated, from the left-hand toolbar, click on Treatment Opportunity.
  3. Click on Add Treatment Opportunity.
  4. In the popup or new window, locate the Assigned Clinician dropdown.
  5. Click the dropdown to select a clinician.
    Only contacts assigned the Clinician role under the facility’s contact list will be visible here.
  6. Complete the remaining required fields and click Save.

  • If you do not see the clinician listed, please check the facility's contact list to ensure the clinician is added with the correct Contact Role.
